Hi,
I have taken a multivol tar back in Redhat 2.4 kernel using the
folling syntax
tar -cvf /dev/rmt/tps6d7v -b 1000 -M filenames.

I am now trying to restoe it on a SLES9 2.6 kernel with the syntax
tar -xvf /dev/nst1 -M

The errors are as follows.

Andaman_Area/survey/Andaman_Area/Line_AAAC/
0000400500900bc1.000000.00000002.traces.ext4

tar: Andaman_Area/survey/Andaman_Area/Line_AAAC/
0000400500900bc1.000000.00000002.traces.ext4: Cannot extract -- file
is continued from another volume

Andaman_Area/survey/Andaman_Area/Line_AAAC/
0000400500900bc1.000000.00000002.traces.ext5

Andaman_Area/survey/Andaman_Area/Line_AAAC/
0000400500900bc1.000000.00000002.traces.ext6

Have tried with both rewind and no-rewind device files.

Any and all help is highly appreciated.

Thanks
Amol..
