Is there a way of doing this? (I do have two genuine XP licences). In Ubuntu
you could download Windows media format codecs.....

Thanks

Reposting from a fellow Sysop: "By default SLED10 doesn't have all
necessary codecs, due to proprietary reasons. However you use the Guru
or Packman repositories to install MPlayer or Xine, which utilizes the
W32Codecs-all package that has most of the codecs you need."

Unfortunately, I have a problem trying to add new repositories to YAST.
I've gone here:
http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories#Guru -
and then tried the following: In the server name I've put "ftp.gwdg.de" and
in the Directory on server
"pub/linux/misc/suser-guru/rpm/10.0", but then I get the error message
"Unable to create installation source from URL xxxxxx
Details:
Cannot create the installation source."
(I've
selected Anonymous Authentication)

This error message happens EVERY time I try to add a repository.

I got the same error with the 10.0 directory on that site, but the 10.1
directory worked fine. SLED 10 is the same kernel as SuSE 10.1 so that's
the one you ought to be using anyway.

Ah thanks - I'll try that!

Thanks - that all worked fine apart from this one:
