Hi all,
my name is Stefano and I have this kind of problem.
(environment NW65 SP5)

I have always loaded portal, using imanager, nrm and all the other options
available.
Now, "suddendly" if I load NRM I cannot ses the left side of the page (where
there are the main options) while the rest of the page is loaded correctly
and functionally.

For a while , at the bottom of page , in the left corner, I see the typical
I.E. warning message "the page cannot be loaded correctly" and the error in
the page is "totalcount = 0".

It seems how NRM it is not able to load those modules. I have also rebooted
the server, and if I load NRM from another server, with the same
configuration I do not have any kind of errors.

All the other features of the portal work fine.

Do you have an idea where can be the problem ?

Thanks for your help and sorry my english.

Stefano

Hi,

I am experiencing the same problem since last week I upgraded NW60SP5 to
NW65SP5 (both Italian versions).

More things I have noticed are:

- if I run Remote Manager from the GUI on the server, I get the
following error messages:
" 8009/TOP.HTML:22:0 cannot convert null to an object "; and
" 8009/SIDE.HTML:134:94: missing ) after argument list outline[28] = new
item (false, <A HREF="/JAVA" TARGET=MAINFRAME>Informazioni
sull'applicazione Java</div></A>',1) "

- I still get the same error from a test machine, where I installed
NW65SP5 from scratch, which seems to rule out that the upgrade itself be
responsible

This is the worst, but not the only, problem I have encountered after
upgrading and I am starting to suspect that the localization of SP5
might be culprit.

Has anybody else experienced the same situation?

Regards

Marco

After some tweaking, I think I got it!

Comparing sys:apache\conf\adminserv.conf (as left over from the previous
installation of NW60) and the new sys:adminsrv\conf\adminserv.conf
resulting from the upgrade (but *read my remark in the second next
paragraph!*), I noticed that the following lines were missing from the
<Virtual Host> section:

<Directory "sys:/webapps/WebMan">
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
AllowOverride None
Order deny,allow
Allow from all
AuthName "NetWare Web Manager"
AuthType Basic
AuthNDSTree [your tree]
AuthNDSContext [your context]
AuthNDSRequireSSL [On/Off]
require valid-user
</Directory>

After adding these lines to adminserv.conf and restarting the server, I
have a working Remote Manager again!

*NOTE*: I thought I had done something wrong with the in-place upgrade,
especially after reading TID 10090279: More fool me!! But wait: a remark
in my previous message is still valid:

be responsible

I mean that a fresh installation of NW65SP5 (and, to be precise, Italian
version: I have not tried the English version yet) leaves you with a
half-working Remote Manager (and no old version of adminserv.conf to
help you out...).

I should be happy now, but ... can anybody explain?

My apologies, in the excitement I forgot the most important step: In
addition to modifying adminserv.conf, I also copied the WebMan directory
from sys:webapps (where NW60 installed it) to sys:adminsrv\webapps
(where NW65 should install the web-based administration tools).

In other words, the problem seems to be simply that NW65 does not
install Remote Manager, even if the option is ticked.

Again, if somebody could shed some light...

Somebody might be interested into knowing that the English version of
NW6.5SP5 is not affected by this problem; while the Italian (maybe, any
localized) version of SP5 and SP4a are.
