I just inherited a NetWare 6.0 SP5 Small Business Server. Up until
recently, this company was using NetStorage to access files remotely. Now
when anyone (including me!) plugs in the web address to a browser and
accepts the certificate, we are not propted with a login dialog but
instead the default information screen about NetStoraqe is presented.

Okay, the first thing everyone is asking is "What changed?" The only
thing I can put my finger on is Java was updated to JVM 1.4.2 (sp4), but I
checked the documentation & was led to believe it was compatible with what
I am running.

Any help is appreciated! This is my first experience with NW ver 6!
Thanks!

- Dan

Probably the registry (yes, Netware has a registry, alas), settings for
XTier (the actual client that NetStorage uses) are hosed.

You can look at this TID for tips on recreating settings:
http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?10098297.htm

You can hit the https://server.ip/oneNet/nsadmin (in IE Only) and see if
the settings look ok there first.

The TID you reference only lists NW6.5. Do you think it is okay to use
thin on NW6.0?

Dunno. :) Test? I am pretty sure the tool, appeared in the SP for
the OS it first worked on... I forget when that was.

The tool is available. However when I attemped to load it, it returned
with initialization failure and would not load. Any ideas?
BTW, thanks again for your help.

Usually that means there is a NLM depenency. Most function write
prepend the function name with something useful...

So try again, look on the logger screen for the errors, and post here.
