I have just bought exteNd. I am going through the install for a NE 6.5
SP4a server. This has gone fine. I am trying to setup the express
portal that comes wiht the product and I am running in to some problems.
Is it better to run exteNd driector on a Windows 2003 server or a NW 6.5
SP4a server?
I have read in the documentation that it is not compatible with the MYSQL
that comes with NW 6.5, does this mean I cannot use a NW server as a
mysql database server for the express portal? If so what are my options?

We have been working with extend for a few years now and up until the suse
changes we had good success using the extend app server running director.
It's been good since Nw65 sp3 and runs a little over 1000 constant seats.
We are well into deploying onto sles10 now. We are having some issues that
we can not find documented leaving us to think were the only ones using
this product. Static issues such as executing the bin file install on
sles10 is impossible to find any doc on at novell.com.
I hate to say it but the most difficult thing is trying to get good doc.
We have decided to run the following after much thought,
sles10, jboss, mysql, extend521.
Hope this helps in some way. Considering Novells move I feel sles is a
better long term viability than Netware from this point on.
