Hello all!
I was wondering if there was a way to install certain printers to certain
users or workstations in edirectory. I know you can install to entire OU but
that is not nessecary, just a few departments that reside in the same ou as
the rest the org!

Any thoughts?

TIA

Luis

Through Remote Printer Management you can associate printers for
automatic installation to users, groups, or containers. So if you
create a user group called 'HP8000 printer users' and make the printer
users members of that group, and make that group a User of the printer
agent (under Access Control in the PA), then add that printer to the
RPM list in the group object, then only those users who are members of
the group will get that printer automatically installed.

To associate to workstations you need ZENworks and an iPrint policy.
Also there is a CoolSolutions article that uses a JRB utility and
accomplishes the same thing. I don't have a link to that article
handy, but you should be able to search under Printing Utilities and
find it.
