We have a nw6sp3 cluster running ndps/iprint.
For some reason, the add printer wizard on win2000/xp takes about 10min
before displaying the public access printers.(we only got public access
printers)
When the printer(s) are installed everything works.
I can add printers when specifying the complete path, so I suspect it to be
some kind of lookup problem

Any ideas?

Is your Tree Name defined in DNS?

I found at my site that ndps lookups required this

Thanks,
this seems to have taken care of the problem even though it's been working
for 3 years without the tree name in dns...
Strange... maybe a cluster thing....

We only had this issue after installing SP4 on our Win2K PCs

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but how do you define your tree name in DNS? don't you need an IP address to go with the DNS name when you define it? So if your tree has multiple servers, which IP/server do you choose?

As I understand it, it actually doesn't matter what ip you use, as long as a
dns request to the tree responds ok.
Well, sounds a bit strange, but it worked for me (I guess)
