I have a Netware 6 sp3 server with Ultrium drive and have just installed
Arcserve 9.
I set it to backup overnight. It seemed to perform the backup but at the
end it dismounted the NSS pool/volume producing the following repeating
error

Server - 5.60 - 4106 [nmID=120002]

Swap out failed (1,0x88, changing number)
This may have been caused by dismounting a volume being used for virtual
memory swapping even though there was insufficient memory to hold all of the
swap data.

The NSS is support packed to latest (3C)

Any help gratefully recieved

On further investigation the SYS volume seems to be being dismounted after
Arcserve has carried out Auto pruning and Auto purging. After this I get
errors E6122, E0127 presumably because the SYS volume is dismounted

Is ArcServe installed on SYS? How big is the Arcserve DB and how much
free space on SYS?

Mike.

Tape drive connected to a separate controller or same one as the disks?
Should be separate, disk space does not appear to be the issue however.

Moving Arcserve is best accomplished with a re-install, then just copy
over the database folder.

While having Arcserve installed on a different volume than SYS: is a
good idea simply because of the space the AS database takes up, this is
for certian *not* your issue, and with an issue as serious as the sys
volume dismounting on it's own, there's something serious going on you
should concentrate on.

In your case, this is most certainly a Hardware issue. Is the tape drive
conected to the same storage controller as the drive holding sys:? If
not, you should be prepared for a dead/dying drive holding your sys:.
