Hi,

I've got a Dell Powervault 110T (40/80) tape drive. I'm using NW6 SP3
with BackupExec 9.1. The backups are working, however I'm having a
problem with compression.

I need to backup about 55GB which I'd hope would fit on a tape like
this. However as soon as I've backed up 40GB I find I need a new tape.
I've tried both hardware compression and software compression from within
BE. Neither makes much difference! As far as I can tell my volumes
aren't compressed - I know this causes problems from what I've read..

Can you help me solve this problem

Thanks,
Jonathan

55 gigs on a NetWare volume?

You 40/80 gig drive will hold 40 gigs from a NetWare server. NetWare
volumes are almost always compressed. That means that 55 gigs on a NetWare
server won't compress down any more, and might even expand a bit if you try
to compress a compressed file.
