migrating compressed files from NW 4.x TFS volume to NW 6.5 NSS volumes

hi all,

If we backup compressed files from NW 4.x TFS volumes thru TSA, and restore
to NW 6.5 NSS volumes, will the files stay compressed?

If the answer above is yes, is it the same for ARCserve? I was told
ARCserve is not fully SMS compliant.

Your advice / exprience would be very much appreciated!

Yes.

Yes. Unless Arcserve was configured during the backup to store
compressed files in uncompressed format, or Arcserve was not using TSA.

Be aware though that you installed SP1A on your server or no SP at all.
DO NOT DO THIS WITH SP1 installed
