I've been asked to look into ways of tracking when users login and logout.
I've seen a couple of "auditor" web sites recommended, but I'm not sure they
address this need. I don't need to track file access ( yet ). The main
need is seeing when someone came and went on my network.

Is there anything built into NetWare 6 that I can take advantage of ? I'm
running NW6.sp3. If not, is there a product someone can recommend ?

Thanks.

NW6 shipped with NAAS but that has been replaced by NSure Audit which
can be downloaded download.novell.com.

NSure Audit is a product which Novell is selling. There is an
evaluation version available for download.

Nsure Audit 1.0 Secure Logging Server e-License $9,995.00 US
Nsure Audit 1.0 Instrumented System e-License $1,495.00 US

I wonder what an Instrumented System e-License is.

Since NAAS comes with 6.0 I'm trying to get it to work, myself.

All I want to do is monitor who logs in and logs out and when they do it.
Right now, I'm not interested in monitoring who touches what file when (
although in the long run I could see that happening ).

Bottom line: will NAAS do what I need it to do ?
