Hello,
I am a MCNE, and a NetWare 6 CNE, but yet I have not had luck getting
NetWare Management Portal (NW 5.x), or NetWare Remote Manager (NW 6.x),
to email me or others when thresholds are reached on Server Health. So I
could use some help configuring the Mail Notification Control Panel. Is
there a TID or Documentation link someone can point me to that will help
me properly configure mail notification of Novell server health? I have
simply filled in the primary and alternate mail server addresses and the
notified email addresses in the Mail Notification Control Panel in
NetWare Management Portal, but nothing was ever sent by email. I have
made sure that the threshold configuration were properly set.

Thanks in advance.

Hi
You have to fill in the SMTP address with DNS, no ip address. This is
the most common reason why it fails.
Sometimes I have seen that problem due to registry corruptions and the
registry had to be deleted.
Which service packs are you on ?

Hello,
I am using NW5.1 with SP5 on 16 servers, NW5.1 with SP6 on another, and
NW6 SP3 on the 18th server in the Tree. The NW6 SP3 server contains
master copy of all four replicas, and is the DA server and client
authentication server.
Are you talking of a Netware registry corruption? And how would you fix
that?
Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
in the mail configuration, you need to specify the address where to
send the mail and the mail server name. For the mail server only dns
names will work, no IP address.
Make sure you are using a valid mail address in the Notification List.
Does it still fail ?
