1. Reboot Server, Free Disk Space Shows as 1.5GB out of 2GB Total
- This is actually more free space then I should have!
- The space is conistently reported from the volume statistics tab on
Windows clients and in the system monitor directly on the server.
- no other volumes are experiencing this problem
2. It seems that after each significant btrieve operation on our
pervasive 2000i server, free disk space goes down significantly, maybe
by 300MB.
- We load and clear out a 50MB pervasive database about 5 times a day
- The database files do *not* reside on the sys volume
3. By the end of the day, we are down to no free space (480Kb for
example).
- Checking directory properties, I can't account for this loss of
space.
4. Reboot the Server, and we are back to 1.5GB free.
- I have purged all purgable files on the sys volume
- I should have about 800Mb free at all times
Any advice would really be appreciated as I am at a complete loss. I
should also point out that I upgraded the system memory from 512Mb to
1.5Gb at approximately the same time this happened. I checked and
made sure the page file is on Vol2, not sys. We are running a Dell
PowerEdge 2500 w/ Raid Mirroring.
DB work can be very consumptive of disk space depending on what you are
doing.
I would start by doing a purge /all from the root of the volume in question
when the space is definitely gone. If this recovers space, then I would go
to http://www.caledonia.net and get a copy of Autopurge.
If purging isn't the answer, the I would take the volume down and run a
VRepair with write all directory and cache entries out to disk = on until
you get no more errors.

I have already run a vrepair on the sys volume and it turned up no
errors. I have also done a dsrepair.
Thanks in advance....
