TCPIP as in the software is installed by default.

The utility that is used to configure TCPIP in NetWare is a program called
INETCFG.

The first time it runs it will import the data from your autoexec.ncf and ask
for a restart.

In INETCFG you can review the boards (NICS) the Protocols (IPX, IP etc.) and
then you bind them together.

See http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10017746.htm

It explains in detail on how to Install NDPS after the server is running.
Other products follow the same procedure.

Thank you both; you've pointed me in the right direction. I now have
TCP/IP up and running, fully connected to the network, and, through my
NetGear router, to the rest of the world. I can also administer my
server from any browser. (I also have a little nlm that keeps my
server's clock in synch with NIST... it was just to prove I could
reach the outside world - a double-edged sword, for sure.)

The last part, being able to reach the outside world, is important
because Portlock needs to come a-callin'... :(

BTW - When I invite Portlock into the server, I guess I need to expose
the server's IP address in the router? (I do know how to do that,
thanks.) :)

Bill,

Your message was not posted to the official Novell news
server. While your news server might show the Novell support
newsgroups, Novell has no official connection with other news
servers, and the message you posted will probably never
propagate to the official Novell server. The SysOps only see
messages on the Novell server and for that reason,
you will probably never get a reply to your
message posted here.

I suggest you post your message directly to the official
novell news server named support-forums.novell.com. The
Novell news server is freely accessible both through HTTP
and NNTP. See http://support.novell.com/forums for details.
