Environment:
NW 5.1 SP6, eDir 8.7.1 for both backup server and GroupWise server
BE 9.0 (latest build) on separate backup server with DLT drives (i.e
backup across the wire)

After we applied NW51SP6 to the GW server, we started having some
problems with BE 9.0 and GWTSA backups. The two problems are:

1. Insufficient privilege to back up certain directories or files. This
starts happening after a few nights worth of backups. The files or
directories seem to be random.

2. The account used by BE to do the backups (call it BEUSER) gets stuck
and cannot be disconnected from the GW server unless we unload BE and
SMDR. If we don't do this, after a few days BEUSER is logged in
multiple times with unclearable connections.

Any thoughts?

Isn't that just maddening when it suddenly stops working for no
apparent reason? In any event, been there, done that, and the
following seems to fix it -- you can try it first without the step in
[]'s -- if that doesn't work, the try again and include that step.

unload ndmpd
unload gwtsa
smsstop
bestop
[smdr new -- then answer: y,n,n,n]
bestart
gwtsa
smsstart
