Does anyone know which or can anyone suggest whether any particular
Directories and/or files on the SYS volume may be excluded from virus
scanning? We are hoping that some specific exclusions may help speed up
our backup procedures.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Kenneth,
in theory you can exclude all directories where users have no access to.
Means that still an admin user might be able to infect files.
What about unloading the antivirus software during the backup ?

Would not excluding files and directories defeat the purpose of virus scanning?
The kind of practice you are attempting could explain why I get w32.mimail.j@mm
in my email on a regular basis with the source of the w32.mimail.j@mm appearing
to be mail.woodbineentertainment.com
