Hello all,
I just wanted to ask about something I've noticed with Arcserve 7.0
through 9.0 with the included Inoculan 4.5 for virus free backups. I
like to use the included Inoculan utility on the target servers being
backed up, but the Inoculan utility uses approximately 30% to 60% of
Utilization while inactive. I like the idea of having virus free
backups, but not at the cost of 1/3 to 2/3 of CPU utilization? Can
anyone else confirm they also have seen this problem? I have the
Inoculan configured to not perform real-time virus checks of files stored
by users, but only be active during a nightly backup. But still the
utilization cost is high all the time.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Known issue, solved for years. You need to patch Inoculate with the
latest patches available from CAs website.
