I have Novell 5.0 sp6 with arcserve 6.6 installed. It has been running fine
for 3 years.
I changed the admin password yesterday. The backups failed so I resubmitted
them and entered the new admin password. Now the backup completes the
volumes successfully but the NDS fails with an error:

"E3123 Failed to login to TSA on server <server name>, fffdffd7"

I resubmitted the job and I got the same error. Any ideas.

I have narrowed some of the problem down a bit. I found that when creating
the backup job, if I select the NDS last the login fails. I select my
server volumes, then the NDS tree, then click back on the server name. The
grayed out box above shows the server name not the tree name then. When the
backup runs everything works. The only difference I can see is the log
shows the NDS backu as successful but it lists the session name as
SERVER[root] not TREE. Is this OK?

I have been through all the Novell TID's regarding the fffdffd7 errors, none
worked. I deleted the password lists in arcserve and let them recreate with
no improvement. I recreated the job under a different user with admin
rights and I had the same result. I can login to a workstation with the
admin user and password fine, but Arcserve wont unless I follow the method
described above.
