I just received it today (placed the iTAR on saturday)
It says it's only certified for 5.1, it doesn't mention de SP level.

I plan on trying it tomorrow with SP4 on a new install.

Has somebody already tried it?

Where did you get this from?
We are running on 8.1.5 and 8.1.6.

With Oracle.
We have the paid "upgrade and support" option and just placed and upgrade
request iTAR (internet Tecnical Assistace Request) on
http://metalink.oracle.com with our CSI (custommer support identifier)

I was able to uninstall 8.1.6, but got stalled on the install with SP4.
I'll backrev to SP2 and try again.

I finally could install it with SP4.
What was it?
I had installed 8.1.6, I de-installed it BUT did not delete de Oracle
and OraHome1 dierctories.
That was what was hanging the install...
As soon I deleted them it worked with no problem.

By the way, the release is 8.1.7.2 and installs the usual netware
database, on Win an Linux it uses new init.ora parameters wich are
suited to the hardware like bigger block size, SGA, processes,
open_cursosrs, etc.

I run into problems with the Oracle 8.1.7 on server running the
LDAPSDK.NLM version 2.01, October 2001.

The LDAPSDK.NLM is needed for the PKI and SSL support and it is probably
installed as part of the eDirectory 6.2. This module is preventing the
ORACLE81.NLM module from loading (...symbol already defined...). I hope
Oracle will patch this problem soon...
