btrieve,no bsetup

I went to a customer site where they use a novell 5.1 server. They have
an application that uses btrieve. It is locking up periodically. I need to
change the settings on btrieve but bsetup is not on their server. I logged
in as admin checked the system folder then did a search for it on the
whole server. When I click on btrieve.nlm and go to properties then
version it says 7.51. Does it still use bsetup? Can I just edit the
bstart.ncf to what I need it to be? I have done this on 4.11 with no
trouble however this customer's bstart.ncf is very odd to me. Rather than
just having btrieve then the parameters and load bspxcom it loads all
sorts of other stuff. like:load nwaif103
load dsapi
load nwmke
load btrieve
btrv link
load nwbsrvcm

Can I add the parameters after btrieve such as -p=4096 and can I add load
bspxcom without causing problems? what is btrv link? Any help would be
appreciated.
