When I try to install eDirectory 8.6.1 in a test
environment, I it fails stating that sp2a is is
required. However, service pack 3 is already
installed. Any hints as to what I am doing wrong?

then attempted to install eDir 8.6.1 BEFORE
installing sp3. I then got the error:
This installation can only be run on a Netware
5.1 server with support pack 5.1.2 or a Netware 6
server.
As I do not have a NW 6 server, can anyone point
me to the sp2a files? I can only find sp3.

Sounds like a problem with the installed products list. I had a similar
problem setting up a test server with a pre-installed service pack. The
installed products list did not get updated.
Check you installed products (nwconfig -- products -- review installed
products) and see what (if any) service packs are listed.
Someone in one of these forums sent me a copy of an .IPS file that
updated the products list, and that solved my problem.
