FTP after NW5.1 sp6

Hi All,

We are using McAfee EPO to update our virus dats on our servers. The Netware
5.1 servers get the updates by connecting to an ftp server. After applying
sp6 on 14 servers the ftp no longer works. I get the following errors in the
McAfee log:

Tuesday January 27, 2004 09:41 am AutoUpdate Try Passive FTP to epo-01
Tuesday January 27, 2004 09:41 am AutoUpdate doFTP Failed to connect to
epo-01
Tuesday January 27, 2004 09:41 am AutoUpdate Try Active FTP to epo-01
Tuesday January 27, 2004 09:41 am AutoUpdate doFTP Failed to connect to
epo-01
Tuesday January 27, 2004 09:41 am AutoUpdate FTP communication error in
obtaining file.

I am not sure what has changed or even how Netware acts as an FTP client.

Any help would be great....

NetWare does not act as an FTP Client, Mcafee is doing it. Check with them
to see if they have any updates you need to apply. Also, check for post
sp6 updates, specifically,

one of my co-sysops said that there is a new hotfix for McAfee, it
fixes some FTP problems

I got it working. I had to unload a reload McAfee before I would even see it
hitting my ftp server. But that still didn't do it. The ftp server was
saying bad password or username. I retyped the password and still no joy. I
then retyped the user ID and it worked. I had to do this on all 14 servers
so I still think it's some kind of bug. I will try updating epo when I find
the time but thanks for the responses anyway.
