I am in a singel server environment. I will be upgrading from NW5.1SP6 to 6
in the near future. I have new hardware to upgrade to. That is, I have an
brand new box that I will be using as the server.
My current thinking is to upgrade 'across the wire' to the new box.
The old box will no longer be in service (or if it is it will be 'blown
away' and start from scratch addition)

I am here on the forums looking for advice, gotchas, other ideas, etc.

My 1st question is about the 1st step. Should the new box get 6 installed
and then some sort of upgrade, or is it when I goto install 6 it ask if I
want to upgrade (I seem to recall that sort of question but I installed 5 a
good while ago and obviously in the single server environment, its not
something I get to do very often)
Or is it that you start the install on the old box and point it to the new
box( but that doesn't make sense cause how would I adress the new box)

So I am looking to determine my 1st steps and learn how the process should
go so I know what to expect and all will go well.

Thanks!

Ron
