Hi,

I have a site with Netware 4.11 with SP9 with mirrored SCSI Disks.
DAT Drive - HP DDS4.
Backup utility - SBACKUP.
DAT drive is the only device on the SCSI channel with an Active terminator
at the end.

While taking backup of the data volume the following error comes on the
console:
"SCSIHD:RETRY EVENT 0X112X"

When this error comes, backup pauses for a few seconds and continues. I am
able to complete my backup process. This error comes during every backup
process, though it doesnt seem to have caused any harm so far.

I have tried running VREPAIR on each disk individually after breaking the
mirror, but couldn't find any errors in the log. SCSI BIOS utility -
VERIFY MEDIA also does not report any bad blocks?

Any suggestions how i can do away with this error?

Thanks.

Seema

Do you have the speed on the controller and drive matched?

Hi,

Controller is LSI LOGIC U3W on both channels.

This should work -- but which driver are you running here, and in the
Symbios BIOS set up, what are the settings on the channel supporting this
specific device (speed/wide/disconnect, that sort of thing).
