Anyone have consistent results with any PCI NICs for Netware 3.11?

Thanks!

Bill

Bill, you need old NIC's -- for PCI NIC's -- they would be 10 baseT and
probably used ones.

Why not use ISA NIC's -- as long as you are running 3.11...

Yep. I consistently can't find drivers for them!

Follow Barry's advice and go with old ISA NICS - or update your OS.

I have a great ISA NIC from Intel. It's 10/100 even, and it works great.
(It's what I'm using right now.) The problem is that this new motherboard
only has 1 ISA slot, which I am going to need for a controller card soon.

I'll be experimenting, as tyhe NIC's that I have in mind to try are only a
few bucks apiece. So, WHEN (let's try to be optimistic here) I find one,
I'll let you guys know, so maybe you could add it to your informal database
here.

Oh, as a side note, I had a PCI 10/100 NIC by Linksys, the LNE100TX that
actually had 3.11 - specific drivers - but it didn't work. If anyone is
curious about it, the type of LNE100TX was the one that has "LC82C169" on the
chip.

OK.

I guess what I'd suggest is NOT upgrading a motherboard to something that only
has 1 ISA slot -- if you are going with newer motherboard and CPU
combinations, 3.11 is REALLY going to start giving you heartburn.

Right, just jam those into a PCI slot <g>

I must agree that Intel ISA NICs are much much more compatible with most
PCs than 3com ones.
