Another one I should know but I rarely work with 3.12 nowadays. Is there
a parameter for forcing 100mb Full duplex on a 3.12 server when loading
the LAN driver?

thx

There is, but the specific syntax varies from NIC to NIC -- which network card
are you using?

I am assuming this to be a fully patched 3.12 server with ODI 331 support.

It's a compaq proliant DL380 server using the n100 nic. It is fully
patched with ODI 331 support.

I seem to remember speed= and a duplex= paramters, but unfortunately, the
specifics escape me :)

Thx

OK -- the intel drivers use a specific syntax:

Note, they should in 'autodetect' mode find a full duplex 100M connection and
set accordingly, but they can be forced:

SPEED=100 FORCEDUPLEX=2

depends on the NIC. I'd go to the mfr. site and look at the NIC readme.

Great!!! Thanks for your help. Hopefully this will work. A little
background .... we have the backups running on a separate IP segment with
a separate NIC in each server being backed up. We just put in a new
infrastructure using Cisco 4006 switches and 6509's for the core. Since
we did that, my backup speeds are 1/5 what they used to be. Our cisco
integrator had us force duplex for all servers on the core switches and
this one was the only one I hadn't done yet.

Thanks again for your help.
