I am upgrading the server hardware. Intel SDS2 motherboard with
integrated Adaptec AIC 7899 SCSI dual channel.
I have a Ultra160 scsi drive on each channel of the scsi controller.
I can create a netware partition on each drive.
When I try to mirror/duplex, I select the only visible drive in the
window, hit Insert and get "no suitable netware partition present"
I have followed the Adaptec instrucions, added patches from nwpa_up.
Adaptec driver is ADPT160m downloaded today.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong, or is there a compatibility problem?

Yes it does - primary drive shows up as Netware partition, second drive
shows up as hotfix partition.
I get one error message when loading the scsi driver - unable to find load
file neb.nlm.
I did manage to get into the mirror section once, but when I dropped back
through the menu the drive said it was non-mirrired, and I couldn't then
get back into the menu to sync the mirrored drives etc.
I have also tried mirroring two drives when they are connected to the same
controller, and again they won't mirror.
Did you check the SCSI ID and perform a low level format/verify when you
installed the new drive?

I'd check the terminations, cables and speed.
When you boot did you check to see if the controller recognizes the drive?
A hotfix partition? Not sure of this status...
It could well be a hardware and driver issue, you are using hardware that is
much newer than the OS...
I will check terminations and speed.
Both drives are recognised by the controller and also appear in the list
of available space when adding volumes in netware.
I guess I should also try adaptec to see if they know of any issues.

Did you low level format the new drive with the controller? What did the
SCSI ID number check and termination come out to be?
