I've installed SBS 6.5 Beta - and read, that licensing will be done for SBS
6.5 like for Netware 6.x with sticky User licenses. My Question is, where do I
find the - for me - most interesting information, how many user licenses are
used and how many user licenses are free.
If I look into Remote Manager under licensing information I see a number of
4 licensed connections, but that number is exactly the number of
the at the moment current connections (3 connections for the actual workstation
connection I am using to run Remote Manager [1 HTTP (Remote Manager) connection,
1 Novell Client connection and a second connection I attribute to the
already closed BackupExec Administrator Console] and 1 connection for an queue
based printer).
If I look at the licensing report it shows the following information:
Connection License Info
Current Licensed Conns..: 4
Peak Licensed Conns.....: 4
Max
Grace Conns Allowed.: 3
Current Grace Licensed..: 0
Peak
Grace Licensed.....: 0
Acquire Requests........: 677
Successes...............: 12
Release Requests........: 664
Successes...............: 8
Releases during
state...:
Licensed..............: 8
Unlicensed............: 0
Already Being Released:
0
Free Connection Requests: 665
Current Free Conns......:
9
Peak Free Conns.........: 10
User Class Conn Req.....:
10
User Conn Req proxied...: 3
Non-User Class Conn Req.:
2
Total ConnMgr Requests....: 2078
Ignored (Succeeded).....:
737
Am I correct in my assumption, that:
a) the Beta License does not use the sticky licensing model and is a 10 User
License;
b) the Used User Licenses are the result of
"Current licensed connections"
less "User Conn Req
proxied";
c) the Remaining Unused User Licenses are "Current Free
Conns"
Or an I completely mislead and have to look into some other
location or data?
Thanks in advance for any insight to this matter.
