I can now successfully log into the groupwise client and both the POA and
MTA are running. (I think they are configured right, but i am very new to
novell).

When trying to send any email, groupwise crosses out the address and won't
let me send!

any ideas?

If internet addressing is not set up and you are trying to send out to aan internet email address it will give you this error. In order to set up internet addressing, you must install GWIA, have appropriate DNS records and chose an addressing format under GroupWise system operations in Consoleone.

How can i tell if the GWIA is running? I assume that stands for groupwise
internet agent?

You have to install the GWIA.. It is located in the Groupwise softeare distribution directory. It's usually grpwise/software/internet/gwia

Also here will be a console screen on the server if it is up and running.

Have a good look at
http://www.novell.com/documentation/lg/gw6/index.html?page=/documentation/lg/gw6/gw6_admin/data/a7q50pq.html

This will get you up and running and you can then ask any questions you have
from a position of knowledge.

Good luck

Tim
