Hello,

If I install NSBS 6.0 and use 192.168.0.2 as my IP behind a router connected
to the outside world I'm able to see the internet.
But If I remove my router and install using 24.222.X.X for my IP and
255.255.255.252 for my gateway, which is what my cable ISP is giving me, the
server does not connect to the outside world.
Why do these settings work with my router and any workstation but not my
Novell sever?

Thanks

Herb

do you mean 24.222.x.x as the IP and 255.255.255.252 as the SUBNET MASK?

If so change the gateway to the needed value (24,222,x,?) and make the
mask 255.255.255.252

I can see in autoexec.ncf that the proper gateway according to my ISP is
entered.
But I can't ping anything except my own IP.

I unloaded my lan driver and reloaded everything and now I can connect to
the internet and bring up my "Welcome to Netware" page in Netware Remote
Manager's browser but I can't get that page to come up on a workstation that
is on the internet (not on the same subnet).

I can ping the gateway but not the server IP. Both machines can surf the
internet fine.

If I look in Apache I see
"Failed to resolve server name for 24.222.18.X (check DNS) -- or specify an
explicit ServerName"

There are a number of spots in adminserv.conf that need to be entered
to change teh IP address of the web server.

To change the IP address of the NW6.0 server there are something like
17 locations you need to edit.

If you have run inetcfg to configure the LAN cards, yes.

Else it would be in teh bind statement of autoexec.ncf
