generally thoughts (i hope novell reads it too! i do not want to travel to
brainshare for such things) :

i agree with a.de regt mails:

i think that novell promise with sbs an all in a box solution.

many customers - at least in austria - have adsl providers with pop and
therefore cannot directly receive mails into gw. so gw should support it
WITHOUT any extra downloads. the connection wizard does support adsl but not
the mail system. this makes me really unhappy, because other products do so!

In the UK we have a lot of companies that have ADSL but when I have
set these up there is no problem in getting an ISP to provide an SMTP
feed with ETRN. If it is at all possible, an SMTP feed is far better
than a POP based system.

I have used POP based systems before, including the PFA (as available
from CoolSolutions for NSBS6) and have to say that they are not nearly
as effective, efficient or reliable as the SMTP based GWIA.

However, I think that this message has been passed back to the Small
Business team and their first reaction has been to post the PFA on
CoolSolutions so that a POP retrieval system is available without
cost. When downloaded via ADSL it should take lass than a minute :-)

I think that your comment and others will ensure that in future
releases of NSBS ther PFA will be on the CD.

to all
thanks,
once more i am impressed about the rapid and positive, helpful reactions!
personally i am a it-consultant supporting ms and novell. my personal
favorite is novell. the only problem is, that it is sometimes hard to sell,
because the marketing is better of other companies.
and if something then is missing or cause a problem, .. therefore i try to
make such posting, because i think also such feedback is important. (and i
have the feeling with all your help it works!)

@tim:
ETRN is possible in austria by some providers, but only with extra costs.
