2 Nic Cards

Hi all,

I currently and 2 NetWare servers (5.1 and 6) with 2 nics in each. Our
network Currently has 2 subnets that range from 10.0.0.64 - 127 and
10.0.0.128 - 192 with the mask of 255.255.255.192.

I am running out of addresses so I was thinking of going to one subnet of
255.255.255.0. This would give me 255 addresses.

Will there be any problems having 2 nics on one server with 2 different ip
addresses? And is there any way of load balancing them.

I want to go to one subnet if possible.

You can have 2 nics with 2 ip addresses, but only if the ip addresses are on
different subnets.
For load sharing however, you can associate the 2 nics with the same IP
address and make them work as a single nic.
This can be done either using vendor solutions (like ians.lan for Intel,
basp.lan for Broadcom or cpqans.lan/qasp.lan for HP/Compaq), or by Novell's
IP load sharing.
