I'm trying to deploy DHCP with DDNS throughout our network. Our Netware
6.0 DNS server runs in the main subnet of our network, and I thought I
had it made when I added a DHCP server to the main subnet, configured it,
turned it on and actually got Dynamic DNS to update. Huzzah!
However, I just installed (the same version of) DHCP on a Netware 6.0
server in a remote site. Set up the address range with dynamic update
for DNS, but it doesn't work. As a matter of fact, loading DHCPSRVR -d1
shows that it doesn't even TRY to update.
What am I missing?
Thanks!
Charles
1) A DNS Zone for which a server in your tree is a Primary and
Authoritative DNS server.
2) A Subnet configured with the zone name of the zone to update.
3) A Subnet Addres Range within the Subnet set to Always Update.
4) A reverse lookup zone (in-addr.arpa) which matches the Subnet
defined in item 2).
Chances are one of the above is missing in your config.

-D2 gives more info than -D1, and -D3 writes the -D2 info
sys:etc\dhcp\dhcpsrvr.log -- very handy for later reference.
