ACU.EXE not updated Major, Minor internal Versions

I am doing and unattended install of the Novell Client 4.9 SP1a for
Windows NT. The installation goes just fine, but after the install I
noticed that the Major and Minor internal versions that I have assigned
in the unattend.txt file are not getting applied. The version reads
4.90.0.0 SP1a instead of 4.90.4.901 SP1a. I have used this same install
on a Windows 2000 PC and the versions were updated correctly. This has
only happened on my Windows NT test PC. Has anyone else seen this? Am
I doing something wrong?

Cliff,

Are these fresh installs, upgrading from older clients, or just applying
SP1a to 4.9?
What exe are you kicking the ACU off with? Are you using ACU.INI to control
parameters?

You may want to post the contents of ACU.INI and the unattend file if you
continue to have issues.
Mask any information that may be considered a security risk.

Like I indicated earlier this works perfectly on a Windows 2000 PC.
After the installation I have checked the registry keys for the
MajorInternalVersion and MinorInternalVersion and they are set to "0".

By default, I believe during a SP update ACU.EXE passes off to setupsp.exe
which gets its parameters from setupsp.inf which do not include the internal
version numbers.
But you have already accounted for that by setting the SP check to No in
your ACU.INI and forcing a full install. So my guess is that you've found
an ACU bug.

Unless someone else comes along and posts a better suggestion in the next
few days, I would look into doing a registry hack of some sort and reporting
this issue to Novell.

Just wanted to mention that I am having the same issue as well.. I have
been upgrading from either client 4.7 or 4.83 and it never does show the
internal versions.. It works fine on 2000 machines though.. Did Novell
ever acknowledge this and create a fix? I am guessing this is going
to wreak havoc on these machines once I put the clientupgrade in the
Login Script since it will continuously update?
