You may have some other IP configuration issue with the Novell Client as the
Microsoft Netware Client runs IPX-only.
IP address of the server? I'm assuming you mean Preferred Server or the
Server: field in the client profile.
Using the IP address of server in those fields just takes name resolution
out of the equation.
What about the user object? Is the preferred server configured there?

If you can verify that the hardware is good, check to make sure that there
hasn't been a virus infection or spyware installed on that box.

You'll recall from the beginning of the thread that she has the Novell
Client installed IP-only. It works fine with the Microsoft Client for
Netware and IPX.
I'm curious if the latest NWFS.SYS for SP1a would have helped any.

So I went in and did browsing on the machine. I browsed to the server and it
listed the printer objects and the volumes. But I couldn't browse into the
volumes at all.
On one of the two machines, I removed the client and reinstalled it and it
worked.
On the other, that didn't work. I removed NMAS - that didn't work. I added
IPX to that machine and it worked, of course.
But I have serious concerns about the 450 machines I've just updated to
IP-only. should I acu them to have IPX to cut this one off at the pass?

Most of the time its questionable IP configuration (SLP, switches, DHCP,
etc.) or less likely bad hardware...
Start by verifying if you're using switches that connect to your clients.
If so check that those ports have spanning tree disabled...
