I have a client that I just setup some new PC’s for. They have an old
Novell 4.11 server. I downloaded the newest client on Novell’s website
for connectivity for WIN2k. I installed it and I was able to log into
the box. The login scripts map the F: drive and the Z: drive to SYS:.
When I first logon, I can connect to the drives through My Computer.
However, if I click on them about 10 seconds after I have connected, I
get an error that those drives no longer exist. I got totally frustrated
and removed the Novell client and just set up Microsofts Netware Client.
This works fine. So, I have two questions. First, any idea why this
would be happening and second, any reason that I should not use
Microsoft’s Novell client? Any insight you could give would be greatly
appreciated! Thanks!

I'm actually having the same problem, except I'm logging into a Netware 6
SP2 server. Using Client 4.9 I have no problems but when I upgrade the
client to 4.9sp1a I lose access to mapped network drives a few seconds
after browsing them. Rolling back the client to 4.9 fixes the problem.
Any ideas?

Does the latest build of NWFS.SYS help either of you?
If you access volumes with IPX, you may want to look at the missing VIPX
files as well...
