...Perhaps a bit overstated, but I'm not having a lot of luck
distributing the newest client, via ACU. Ideally, I would like the ACU
to run and require no intervention from the user. However, it seems no
matter what I try, I still get prompted to confirm if I want to install
this or that, and am I sure I want to upgrade? I've tried the
suggestion in previous posts, to check the different components(NMAS,
NetIdentity, etc), but then go back into the unattend.txt and replace
the YES with NO. Ironically, the ACU runs perfect with our older NT 4
clients. When I run it against Win 2K/XPP, I get a lot of questions!!
Does anyone have "The Answer"?

Thanks,
Blair

Blair,

I'm having the same issue as you. The ACU dialouge box appears with the
following prompts "Install/Upgrade" or "Cancel". I would like to find out
if there is a way to bypass this prompt so that my users will not see
this box. It has worked well in the previous client version upgrade but
with 4.9 it's a little different. I'm afraid that if this box appears my
users will cancel the install. If you find out any info please post.
Thanks in advanced......Steven.

The solution is to edit the setupsp.ini file. This file has fields to
suppress the install screen including NICI, and NMAS.

Thomas,

Thats assuming ACU is kicing off setupsp to do a service pack install. A
full install would use the unattend file as configured.

So what is the final verdict on this matter? Is there a way to use the
new ACU without it promting you to install the client?
