We have a mixed tree with 4.11 servers and now the first NW 6 sp3 server.
Randomly some w2k clients are loosing their mappings to the nw 6 server.
If you want to save a document, the client cannot save to the server. You
have to doubleclick more than one time to the mapped drive in explorer to
reconnect.

Norbert,

Is that SP1a on the client?
NSS volume or traditional?
IP, IPX or both bound to the client? How are you resolving NetWare names?

You should be to at least to SP3 on Windows 2000.

You may want to look at SP3 and the latest NSS update for NetWare 6.
Try connecting to your NetWare 6 box via its IP address rather than the
server name. As IPX/SAP and its broadcast nature tends to resolve "faster",
this ensures its making its connection via IP rather than IPX.

An SLP DA wouldn't hurt if you'll be moving those 4.11 boxes to NetWare 6.x
and resolve names via SLP over IP.
Either would verifying speed, duplex and frame-type settings on the NICs and
any network gear in between.

In the Advanced section of the Login screen, substitute the server's
IP address for the name in the Server field.

Yes, though we have no experience with SP4 yet. However I'm sure Donald
was referring to NW6NSS3C.EXE which is known to be a "good" patch.

Does this mean you would not install sp4?

I would wait for other people to report their SP4 experiences first.
