Just take a look:

Drives A,B,C,D,E map to a local disk.
Drive F: = SN:300274885.Novell+NetWare 5 Server+500:SYSTEM \
Drive G: = BCHS2_VOL1:APPS \
Drive I: = BCHS2_VOL1:APPINST \
Drive J: = BCHS2_VOL1: \
Drive O: = SN:300274885.Novell+NetWare 5 Server+500:OSIRIS\APPS\OSIRIS \
----- Search Drives -----
S1: = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
S2: = C:\WINDOWS
S3: = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WBEM
S4: = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\NLS
S5: = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\NLS\ENGLISH
S6: = C:\PROGRA~1\ULTRAE~1
S7: = X:. [SN:300274885.Novell+NetWare 5 Server+500:PUBLIC \]
S8: = Z:. [SN:300274885.Novell+NetWare 5 Server+500:SYSTEM \]
S9: = Y:. [SN:300274885.Novell+NetWare 5 Server+500:PUBLIC \]

Yeah. The "SN:300274885.Novell+NetWare 5 Server+500" is supposed to be
BCHS2_SYS. I have no idea what this is. Ever since we moved this server to
Netware 6, it's done funky stuff like this. Instead of the above license
object, it would pick a random username somewhere in the container, so it
would read, "bsmith:public \" or some such. I can't get rid of this
license object, seeing as how it runs a Netware 5 server in the same
container. Any ideas?

We had an issue like this with a cluster volume. One specific server showed
bogus names when the volume was mounted on it, the other ones were allright.
Mappings were OK in Windows explorer, but not in DOS and in the loginscript
result window
This was solved by changing the serverID in autoexec.ncf of the affected
server following TID
http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10063497.htm

Hope it helps,

Peter

OK change the serverID, sounds good to me. Anything I need to watch our
for? That TID doesn't say a whole lot. Do I need to do a repair network
addresses after the reboot? ANything else?

That was very dumb of me to post my license number...... I'm surprised
Novell hasn't pulled up in the Little Red Car to take me away.

Just a reboot and dstrace=*L should do the trick, provided communication
between servers is OK.

Overlooked that. Well, you did change the SN before posting it, right ;-)

I'm getting a similar result when I map drives on a NW 5.1 server - shows
other eDir objects instead of the server name.

Is there any way to fix this without renaming the server?! I don't want to
have to do that.

Hi Matt,

Renaming is not necessary. Just change the ServerID in autoexec.ncf and
reboot.
Follow the section on ServerID only from this TID,
http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10063497.htm

Peter,

Thanks! I was reading it wrong - the ServerID is different from the server
name.
