When attempting to remove IPX (if present) via ACU (using NCIMAN), IPX fails
to remove.
If I manually install the client and select 'Remove IPX if present,' IPX
will be removed.

I've tried adjusting nwsetup.ini, but without luck. The 3.32 client has no
problems removing IPX. Is there another command I can insert into my
unattend.txt to remove IPX?

I agree. I've configured an unattend.txt file with this option, and it
doesn't seem to work. I know its using the file because all the other
settings seem to be there. It used to work on version 3.32, as Matt
mentioned. (Windows version 98SE)

I tried completely removing Client32, leaving Client for Microsoft
Networks, IPX/SPX, and TCP/IP, then installing fresh using the same script.
It didn't add the 32-Bit IPX/SPX piece, but it still did not remove the
IPX/SPX-Compatible Protocol (Microsoft's).

Hi Matt/Timothy,
I have exactly the same problem and wondered whether you'd received any
info/found a solution?

Cheers,
Pete.

Matt,
development confirmed this bug.
Please let me know if this workaround helps.
Un-comment the NWLINK entry in the [DeviceIDDeleteOrder] section of
NWSETUP.INI. So long as your UNATTEND.TXT is asking for IP-only
protocol support, NWLINK should not get added back.

This has been driving me nutz for the last few days... I came across this
post, but it didn't seem to make any difference.. After some trial and error
and reading of the INI file, you also need to set DetectPreviousProtocol to
NO, then it removes IPX quite happily....:)

; Protocol Detection
: The following setting is used to determine if install should detect and
use the
; previous client protocol option. Detecting the previous protocol option
will
; override the DefaultProtocol in the [ProtocolOptions] section.
; DetectPreviousProtocol=YES will cause the protocol detection to be
performed.
; DetectPreviousProtocol=NO will cause the protocol detection to be skipped.
