I am not certain about the netx client, but the .vlm (1.20 or 1.21) will
work fine.

Your startup for it will have a net.cfg like so: The indents are critical
and must be 4 spaces min.

Link driver 3C59X.COM
REM int 5
REM PORT 340
FRAME Ethernet_802.2
rem frame ethernet_802.3
Netware DOS Requester
PREFERRED WORKGROUP = xx
FIRST NETWORK DRIVE = f
NETWARE PROTOCOL = PNW,BIND,NDS
spx connections = 60
SHOW DOTS = ON
USE DEFAULTS = ON
VLM = AUTO.VLM

and a Startnet like so:

LSL
Load (nic driver)
IPXODI
VLM

http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tools/1666.html is a universal bootdisk
that I find very useful.

Also for VLM check whether IPX is installed on your NW5.1 server, VLM
requires IPX.

During the VLM setup take care to specify the same frame type bound to
the servers IPX protocol (e.g. ethernet_802.2)

bye, Rudi.
