Hi,

I'm planning to upgrade from NW4.11 to NW6.5 und currently we are running a
btrieve based apps. I wonder if I can use the btrieve.lm on top of the NW6.5
box and keep my apps running. Any idea?

Thanks for your help

Your question is really better suited for the
novell.support.os.server.netware6x.preinstall-planning forum since
Btrieve on NW6.5 is not really a DOS client issue. Please post any
follow-up questions there for best help.

NetWare 6.5 ships with Pervasive SQL 2000i, so if your Btrieve app will
run on that engine, you should be OK. As for whether or not you can
downgrade to the version of Btrieve you are currently running, that's
best asked in the above mentioned NW6.5 forum.

Few months ago for a new customer I had to replace a 10 year old NW3.11
(tree-dot-eleven) server. After struggeling with upgrade for the btrive
from pervasive, the licenses etc. I just doubleclicked the old dos
BTRIEVE software: Ran perfectly without any changes.

IPX propably will be necessary for old apps.

And take care of the required number of brieve connections. Those
coming with NW6.5 may be less than the clients in that network.

Bye, Rudi.
