Can you post your /etc/group file? Does it have the groups in there for
Tomcat to use? I seem to recall (don't have OES 2 nearby to verify) that
tomcat uses novlwww for its user and wwwrun is for Apache with the 'www'
group (not sure what Tomcat's group is anymore). It looks like your
system is trying to authenticate as 'tomcat' which may also be valid but
does that ID exist anywhere? Compare the difference between `getent
passwd` and `cat /etc/passwd` to see which users are there from a source
other than the /etc/passwd file. Feel free to post the output from each.
Also `getent group` and `cat /etc/group` should be different (you may
want to sort the output of each before comparing for simplicity) if LUM is
involved and that may shed light on things. Which TID were you following?

Good luck.
