Hi.

at the beta pages I can't see OES3 -- OES2 is out now quite a long time:

Who knows something about the OES roadmap for the next years?

... or maybe BrainShare will reveal a new OES version this year ;) ?

Regards, Rudi.

Novell has not announced OES3.

Don't know if it will, but that would be the best bet for any news. If
you won't be in attendance, keep following Novell's website during
Brainshare for updates.

EOL, Open Enterprise Server 2 (Linux) = 31 Jul 2013

That's just 3.5 more years, so there must be something in the pipe?

I believe they're working on "something" but I don't know if Novell has
actually publicly given details, roadmaps, etc. Best bet is to wait for
Brainshare to see if there are any announcements.

I have received a Novell internel roadmap for OES2 from our local Novell
office. Even though it was not officially given to me under NDA, I
nevertheless still consider it as internal and will therefore avoid to
share it.

could be,

and if we look into past, we could suggest that OES3 comes after
SLES11SP1 release.

And if we look at the past, we will see that almost regularly at yearly
intervals, we get a new OES "version", either an SP, or a new version. So
based on the release date of OES2SP2, you can estimate when the next
version might become available.

If we look at the past, we will see that almost regularly at yearly

Just because it used to happen doesn't mean it still will ...

Thanks, Rudi.

This is of course all speculation since there have been no public
announcements of products, betas, etc. I would expect something to said
during BrainShare which is next month (there are OES Futures
presentations after all). See www.novell.com/brainshare.
