EVMS snapshots of xfs system partitions

Following the OES installation guide I installed OES2 on EVMS volumes
using xfs. The setup is based on the YAST proposal during installation.
Now I try to make snapshots of these volumes, so far without success. The
EVMS user guide advises to select Snapshot Feature in evmsgui from
Actions->Create->Feature Object. However, there is no such feature.
Will I have to convert the LVM2 compatibility volume to an EMVS volume
first? How to do this with xfs which does not support shrinking?
