I am using SLES 9 with Novell Nterprise services 1. I have never been able
to get redcarpet to work. After reading the forums for a bit it seemed
unlikely that it ever would so I took advice and installed the evaluation
version of Zenworks Linux Management which I believe is what Redcarpet has
become. This works just fine in as much that it now runs. Only problem is
that the install scripts for Nterprise services would have setup redcarped
for me with my channels etc and Zenworks doesn't. Is there a howto on
setting up zenworks to work with SLES 9 and nterprise for linux?

There is some documentation out there, but I need to know what you're
trying to do.
You installed ZLM, which is a server piece for distributing updates to
other systems on a network.
I think you want to update your SLES box using Red Carpet. Red Carpet did
not become ZLM, Red Carpet Enterprise did.
For SLES9, go into YaST > Software > Install And Remove Software. Search
for Red Carpet and install the Red Carpet that comes with SLES9.
You'll then be ready to install NNLS on SLES9, which is not support BTW.
Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks for your help that clears things up a bit. If I install redcarpet
from the SLES 9 disks will I simply follow the normal instructions for
adding the channels etc for NNLS?
Also is there to be a newer version of NNLS which will work with SLES 9
correctly? I was sold both products at the same time by a Novell
representative who told me it would work fine as long as I got the red
carpet updates. I have noticed that iManager, virtual office and the other
webapps run terribly slowly and this is on a dual proc opteron.
Thanks again and regards,

You should be able to access the updates for NNLS through Red Carpet. I
would like to talk to the sales rep who sold you SLES9 and NNLS as that is
not a supported combination, nor does it work. Please send me his or her
name and email and I'll bring this up for you.

Your preparation is in vain, there will not be a newer version of NNLS.
Some would argue though that OES is the new version of NNLS, but they are
wrong.
Aaron
I have contacted the person at Novell in Scotland who originally sold me
this combination and after relaying your advice have received a refund for
NNLS. I am now evaluating OES and it looks like this may be the way to go.
Thanks for all your help.
