Using Mike Isely's pvrusb2 kernel module with Suse kernel
2.6.15-rc6-git2-2-default on Suse 10.0, I'm able to use the Hauppauge
WinTV PVR-USB2, but with an odd workaround. I cannot read /dev/video
directly using Packman versions mplayer, xine, or vlc. The workaround is
to pipe on stdin:
xine - < /dev/video
This makes vlc and xine work, but not mplayer.

Many pvrusb2 users report being able to read /dev/video directly.

I'm curious to know whether other Suse users have experiences with
pvrusb2 or have insights into what's going on here.

regards,

Mark

It turned out that mplayer could be used to directly read /dev/video
after all. At first avisynth.dll was causing it to crash, but when I
removed this DLL, it worked.
