The existing disk is set up as a single NSS partition and single pool
with a number of volumes.
I am able to successfully clone the DOS and NSS partitions of both disks
onto a pair of new larger disks to replicate the existing mirror set.
This leaves the rest of the disk space of the new disks as unpartitioned
space.
I am trying to partition this extra space into a second netware
partition and expand the pool on it. Can I do this ?
I think first I have to break the mirror set which I don't seem to be
able to do with out deleting all the volumes. I have tried NSSMU without
luck. Any help here please ?
Thanks

FWIW, you should seriously consider SP8. Just a note.

Yes.

No. Why?
You ut expand the pool onto the free space of one of the new drives, and
then mirror the new resulting partition to the other drive too. You just
need to make sure that both drives have a similar amount of free space,
if no, expand the pool to the smaller one, then mirror that back.

I tried this first but it didn't work.
Then I found TID 10097373 which says to break mirror first before
expanding pool. Although it refers to NW6.5 SP3, I think I had the same
problem.
Now I am having difficulty in breaking the mirror.

How did it not work?

Nope. That TID deals with a fully cosmetic problem that additionally in
your case is not a problem at all for more than a few seconds, as you
plan to mirror the expanded partition anyways.

But that *isn't* a problem. It's a cosmetic display issue in NRM, that
solves itself as soon as you mirror the new partition too.

Don't!
I now have a single pool spanning 2 partitions on the same disk.
Is it OK to have a single pool or is it better to have 2 pools, one on
each partition ?
I could not get both partitions to mirror so I had to break the mirror
and re-mirror. Now seems OK. I had to use both NRM and NSSMU. Could not
do the job with just one utility.
