Given your copy is also corrupted after printing from file, this sounds
like the application might already send a problematic file.
For further testing, you could try directly copying the file to the print
queue instead of using LPT1. E.g. you use the command:

copy filename \\<servername\queuename

Apart from that, if you want us to help you, you should given more details
on your setup:

- what NetWare version are you using, what SP level?

- what client OS are you using?

- what client version?

- does your printer operate in print server mode, or do you have a print
server running on your server and your printer is running in remote
printer mode?
