I have a printing question that I am struggling with at the moment. I just
replaced an old printer that died with a new one (HP Laserjet 2420). I kept
the NDS queue and printer objects intact from the old printer that is being
replaced because the queue has 20 documents that have not yet printed that
need to be. I then went into the Web JetAdmin server on the printer and
renamed the IPX name, System name and the Print Server name to "SOUTH" which
is what the old printer was called. I also specified the Tree and Context
where the printer objects are stored. With all that said, the print server
on the Netware box isn't making a connection to the printer. Do I need to
specify "NORTH" in the IPX name, System name and Print Server name on the
JetAdmin pages in the printer? The old Laserjet 4 Plus didn't have all
those options.

If you can shed any light on getting this printer to talk to the print
server I would greatly appreciate it.

Background info:
Netware 5.1 SP8
Running IPX and IP on both server and clients.
Not using NDPS - wish to remain queue based at the moment
5 other queue based printers are working fine.
I have stopped and restarted the print server and printer with no luck.

Thanks!
Tom

Is that printer a queue server or a remote printer, ie controlled by
Pserver.nlm?

OK. Did you configure the new printer to use the correct PSERVER name
and Rprinter number? A lot of more recent HP's do not even support
Rprinter functionality.
